A Centifolia seedling, unnamed: Bred by Paul Barden, 2000
Here is another one of my open pollinated seedlings grown from Centifolia seed given to me 2 years ago. This rose bloomed for the first time last spring, and produced a LOT of blooms for a one year old seedling only 2 feet tall! The blossoms are about 3.5 to 4" across, and produced in groups of 3 or more on very thorny canes that droop. It apears to be a very vigorous plant, and I am going to watch it closely to see how it performs with age. It is a once-blooming shrub, but will undoubtedly produce a spectacular show for several weeks in early summer. For a nearly single bloom, this rose impressed me a lot........spectacular color and large blooms! I will let you know how it does this coming year!
